mjfur Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Does anyone have any pics or information on the protective flight suits Me-163 pilots wore? There seem to be just 4 or 5 pics used in all the Luft. books. Has any of this special flight gear survived?http://www.xs4all.nl/~robdebie/me163/clothing.htmRegards,Mike
Bill Bourque Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Hello Mike, we do now thanks to your pics. Best, Bill
Bill Bourque Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) Hello, here are 2 pics taken from the Wings Aviation Collection, titled ME163 Komet video. One is of Rudi Opitz in the cockpit. The 2nd pic shows a soldier in the cockpit, he is referanced as a T- stuff personel. Can anyone identify his collar tab? Mike this video has a 5 second view of a pilot climbing the ladder into the cockpit. It might be the source for some of the pics you have shown. Best, BIll Edited April 10, 2007 by Bill Bourque
Paul R Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 He is an Administrative official, Middle Level, NCO(Oberfeldwebel Ranking). Most likely had a pink nebenfarbe in the shoulder boards. Nice photos!
Erich Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I stand (actually sit) corrected. That's what I get for being too lazy to look it up!Erich

He is an Administrative Techinician. I love admin stuff so much that I did not have to look this one up(Scary huh?!), but there is something that I want to double check... I think that there is another possibility on the nebenfarbe.Paul
