David Gregory Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 SS-Panzer-Grenadier Gerhard Wagner of SS-Panzer-Division "Hohenstaufen" was serving on the staff of SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Ausbildungs- und Ersatz-Bataillon 16 when he was awarded the EK2 on 2 October 1944.At the time of the award, Hohenstaufen had just finished its part in the bitter fighting during the "Market Garden" operation at Arnheim. The document was signed by Harzer.
