Motorhead Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Another hole in my collection is filled-this nice EK with an oval washer is another long wanted-not a bargain but I couldn't let it go....sorry Mike!Micha
Steve campbell Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Wow, never seen one like that before. The amount of quality crosses you have been showing is getting obscene.
gregM Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 (edited) That is a very nice and hard to find screwback. To the best of my knowledge--Godet was the only maker of that style. I have only seen 2 others like it before. Tony J ( Tiger1) has a beautifull cased example.Congrats on a super cross. Edited July 8, 2007 by gregM
ekhunter Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 (edited) Very nice cross. See page 218 from The Iron Time. Edited July 8, 2007 by ekhunter
ccj Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Very nice cross. See page 218 from The Iron Time.Is "The Iron Time" worth the money? I don't have a copy and haven't had a chance to view the book.BTW, super EK... how many do you have now? I saw your display in another thread and it looks as though you could use a few more. I need to find a few more examples for my tunics... real, but simple pin back types. In over 20+ years of collecting I have never convinced myself to buy a screwback. I have no idea why as I love the EKI. I only have around 10 now for display and tunics. I sold many because I thought I had too many. What the H*** was I thinking!
Mike K Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I finally found one (sorry Greg - you've got the next one) to match a cousin from Oldenburg.RegardsMike
mario Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 This Cross was at Ebay a few days ago. I was the runner up, believe me, I was so upset. I am still upset but it is OK it went to you, I appreciate your knowledge on EK1s. I hope my turn is coming along
Eric Gaumann Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Is "The Iron Time" worth the money? I don't have a copy and haven't had a chance to view the book.I think it's the best book out there. Superb color photography. The first edition is slagged a bit because of a few fakes included as originals but I still give it (the 1st ed) 5 stars. 1st ed is now outta print but there's an updated, 2nd edition that I haven't seen. I'd imagine it's even better.
gregM Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) Very nice Mike. I was high bidder on that cross with 23 seconds left.I really thought I had it but Mike and Mario beat me. That's life. I'll get the next one. Edited August 2, 2007 by gregM
DavidM Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 HelloThat's a very nice EK that you have there. Here's mine to compare against.
