    Just in today!! :jumping:

A field grade ranking tunic for a Luftwaffe Signals Official! This is the first such tunic I have ever seen.

This particular tunic is a private purchase piece(as are all of the Officer Level Officials tunics I have ever handled). The upper pocket flaps are sewn down at the corners.

From everything that I have read, these men worked in Research and Development for "state of the art" transmission equipment, as well as other very specialized roles. Some examples could be developing, perfecting, and operation of navigation systems on remote controlled weapons, radar, codes, and etc.

If anyone has any thing to add, I would be most appreciative!! :jumping: I look forward to reading your comments.

    Paul,

On my monitor,it still looks orange..but I have been waiting for you to receive the rock knowing you would give us more info! What a treat..I have a vicarious thrill here seeing it and knowning too that you will be so pleased to add it to your beamte collection.I like them also and marvel over the ranking/status definition they gave to their various specialists. Many thanks for sharing. Thanks for the reply, John. The top photo most accurately captures the nebenfarbe. It is most definitely golden brown, the second signals waffenfarbe. The man who originally wore this jacket must have been very small in stature. I doubt he was much taller than five feet, if even that!.

Wow Paul - another stunning addition to your collection. Superb condition - and with the side cap too! Congratulations

Thanks for the kind words. The cap did not come with this tunic, however. I do will need to get a visor someday!
