Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I will start a thread on the Order of 9 September (1944) since I also got one of those today. Here is the case for my just-arrived People's Liberty 2nd Class, with the name and class of the Order in 5 lines:
Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 So this is a third type of the Second Class:
Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Cover of the Orders Book:Photograph and name page: Stoicho Paskalev BURKHOV
Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Comrade Burkhov looks exactly like my Scottish veterinarianHe appears to be in his late 60s, so he would have been in his 40s at least during the war.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Awarded by an Ukaz of 24 January 1969:The serial numbers of the earlier Books seems higher than the Book numbers on later ones.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 There is no edition on the Book, but the regulations mentioned are as of 1966:
Stogieman Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I had this little gem in my hot little hands today just as it came out of the shipping box. It was a fun visit! I was surprised by how heavy it was. The case & document were superb!

bolgarin Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Good day. I think that the box from the lust showing order is not from this komplekt. Because the date of award is 1969 year and on box we can see so called "new coat" which was established only in 1971. Also on the booklet you can see "old coat".....Also my opinion that the order is not from this complect too. For this year of award might be order of the 2-d type on ribbon, but with a screw on reverse.
Ulsterman Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 (edited) So, if I read you correctly, you think that this is a "put together" group? Can you tell us more about why there was a screw on the reverse of that year's (1969) Orders? What are the differences by years?Lastly, have you seen Riemers' book on Bulgarian badges? Anatoly13 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Can you tell us more about why there was a screw on the reverse of that year's (1969) Orders? He mean 2nd type - see post 28.
Ulsterman Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 (edited) Ah- so not a screw back used as an 'attachment- to- clothing' device, but the central piece of the order was screwed into the backing of the medal as a part of the construction? Edited April 29, 2008 by Ulsterman
