Paul R Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 This is the first one I have ever seen!! Very attractive! Is it numbered?
Carol I Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Type 2. Romania.GOLD.3 rivets. If you look carefully you will see that on the ribbon around the wheat ears is also written Republica and Socialista in smaller letters. Can you please post closer images of the halmarks? Thanks.
Carol I Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 And last one - without "ruby".This looks like the one on the history page of the Chancellery of Orders.
Anatoly13 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Yes,Carol I saw this sign. The question for me is which one is earlest "Romania" or RSR...Do you want to see hallmarks on gold or on silver order?
Anatoly13 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 This looks like the one on the history page of the Chancellery of Orders. This order is not mine and I don't remember where I loaded this file from.
Carol I Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Yes,Carol I saw this sign. The question for me is which one is earlest "Romania" or RSR...Good question, Anatoly. As far as I know there has not been any official change of the coat-of-arms in the period, so we cannot use such information to decide which was the first one. Based on pure guess, the RSR version seems quite close to the RPR design used until 1965, so maybe it was the first one to be used... Do you want to see hallmarks on gold or on silver order? Both please, if possible.
Anatoly13 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 On the other hand, to make a stamp with small letters it is more difficult and if to recognise that by the end of the socialist period manufacture of awards became simpler (to that there is a lot of examples), so on the contrary!Hard to scan hallmarks...This size only.

Hard to scan hallmarks...This size only.Great! MS for Monetaria Statului and an worker for gold. Any further details that you can see, with a magnifying glass perhaps? Is it two letters in front of his face or two "dents"? They could indicate the purity. What is on the silver one? An oak leaf?
Anatoly13 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Hallmarks are very small and I cannot make out a detail even through a magnifier. On silver one there is in the form of a leaf. ;)
Bob Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Great stuff - one burst of energy in this thread has resulted in more pics of variations of this award then I've ever seen before :jumping:
Eric Schena Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Here's a bronze gilt one with three rivets - it's really quite something in hand:
Bob Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 Can the numbered editions of these and also the Hero of Labor be researched?
