Proposal  : Titles for achievments at Christophe's quiz

    Gentlemen,

we have already a rather large number of multiple winners at our Soviet & Eastern Block Quiz :D .

Why not create special titles of distinction according to the number of scores  ?

5 scores: "Honoured Socialist Answerer" (there are quite a lot ...)

10 scores: "Meritorious Socialist Answerer" (only one: Bryan "Soviet")

25 scores: "Hero of Socialistic Answering" - HSA (already two: Christophe & myself)

For getting the HSA a second time (50 correct answers at the quiz) the GMIC-member has the right to erect a small monument with a bust of himself in the town or village, where the twice-HSA had been borne (at his own costs ;) ).

HSAs are allowed to wear the medal HSL (out of their own private collections - no copies please!) at GMIC-meetings.

Too weird :P - Gentlemen, what's your opinion?

    Best regards

    Dear Frank,

well, I am a more or less an experienced hunts man since 1974 ;) .

If you still have the deer (it's property of the owner of the hunting-rights of the estate!), then drive the animal as soon as possible (keep it at a very cool place!) to a butcher, that he parts the deer and puts the meat at least for one week into a so called "Beitze". Then get the meat deep-frozen in your large fridge. So you can use the meat the coming months for your kitchen. Advice for cooking you will find in the internet or in some excellent books :D .

Best regards & Waidmanns Heil!

And, now, back to the Quiz...

    Question #140

Let's stay with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour of the RSFSR...

This Order has been created in 1920 to honour citizens, enterprises, organizations, united and autonomous republics, krais, oblasts, autonomous oblasts, regions, cities... for significant accomplshment in industry, science, art, culture, literature, education, social, healthcare and other spheres of labour activity.

163 of these Orders have been awarded between 25 April 1921 and 21 January 1933 (even after the Order of Red Banner of Labour of the USSR existed !!).

Amongst these 163, 120 have been awarded to individuals (citizens) and 43 to organisations (the ones mentioned above).

One of these organisations has been awarded a rather unique combination of awards (in chronological order) :

    * Order of the Red Banner of Labour of the RSFSR

    * Order of the Red Banner

    * Order of Lenin

    * Order of the October Revolution.

I have taken this pic when I have been received for the first time in this organisation a few months ago.

    Questions :

    1. What organisation are these Orders belonging to ?

    2. What is its mission ? Where is it located (exact location)?

    3. What is the SN and awarding date of its Order of Red Banner of Labour of the RSFSR ? And for which reason ?

Bonus : what are the dates of awarding of its other Orders ?

The first one to correctly answer the 3 questions is the winner...

Good hunt and good luck...

    Cheers.

    Question #140

    Dear Christophe,

I am now and the coming days in Munich and my library is in Vienna - so, I have to give a w.o. at question #140 :( .

The organisation or corporation in question has to be rather old (RBL of the 1920s) and might have played an important role in the GPW (RB). It's an important organisation, due to the Lenin + Octoberrevolution.

    Best regards

I am still staring (ignorantly, as it is in Russian) at the list of recipients of the RSFSR RBL. :banger::banger::banger:

Do I get credit for frustrated effort?

    Posted

This organisation is in the list of the 163.

I'll give you an hint : only 10 Red Banner of the RSFSR have been awarded to organisations after the mystery one.

And another hint that should help A LOT : Gagarin was used to go there...
