    Thanks JC!

As an aside, after some searching last night I think I found some weights on Yuri's(?) site. Being in the Russian language it's a bit hard to decipher but it seems he includes size and weight there.

And as Ed said elsewhere with all the variations and subvariations there can be discrepencies.

But thanks so much for your help. :)

Are we getting any closer to getting some rough dates for when these were awarded?

I'd like to get an approximation for my T1 V2 #1753.

Right now I'm guessing 1960, plus or minus 5 years.

I've got my MoC down to '55 +/-3 and my HLM to '54 +/-2

No clue on my Polar Star...

    Thanks! :)

1552 was awarded on 19-sept-1964 and 1920 on 18-dec-1968, that should narrow it down a bit for you.

So at around 100 awardings per annum yours was probably awarded in 1966

In an effort to breathe some life back into the forum, thought I'd share some eye-candy of major types.

    Serial numbers:

    271

    7874 (pinback) / 7120

This one always struck me as being too similar to The Polar Star

Agreed, I think the intent was that the pentagonal (vs. hexagonal) shape would make it visually distinctive. Not sure they succeeded.

Interestingly, this is the award being discussed most frequently for termination.

Does anyone have a short, reasonably elegant CLOTH ribbon bar group including the ribbon for this order? I am putting together an article on the order for JOMSA and need an example to show.

Also, should anyone wish to read over, comment upon, abuse, and otherwise help my draft, please contact me by e-mail (maharao@yahoo.com).

    Bayarlalah!

I would like to contribute my collection, I bought this from Alexei long time ago. S/N969 shall be the biggest number so far within T1V1.

Thanks. Yes, that is the highest in that variation. With 1038 the highest in Type 1.2, I think we can posit 1000 of type 1.1? Let me see if I can make changes in my forthcoming JOMSA article to reflect this. Thanks again!

Thenka, "Sparks". That item established a new lower limit for theobserved serial numberv ranbge on the type 1.1: low 9; high 969

    To summarise:

    Type 1.1 (Screwback; flat reverse; 5 rivets) - Low = 9; High = 969

Type 1.2 (Screwback; circular indentation at center on reverse; 2 rivets) - Low = 1038; High = 5873

    Type 2.1 (Pinback, 4 rivets, silver) - Low = 6036; High = 8823

    Type 2.2 (pinback, bronze) - Low = 7120; High = 9066

Type 2.3 (pinback bronze, not numbered, unawarded escapee?)
