Stogieman Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Well, they say if you're going to dive, dive deep. I have to say the enamel-work is quite beautiful and crude all at the same time. I'm not sure how to describe the appeal, but they are very beautiful pieces.
Stogieman Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 All three grades, gold, silver & bronze:
Chris Boonzaier Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 nice looking award! almost as nice as the red stars...
hunyadi Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Nice complete set Rick - the silver and bronze are the hardest to find Can you post an image of the bottom scuff plates of the cases? Do the inserts come out? :jumping:
Stogieman Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 Hi Charles, will pull them back to the house and get the scans shortly and see if the trays come out at all.
Ulsterman Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Darn@#! it!!! When did YOU....get collecting these? I thought I was safe! You now own one more of the stars than I do. Those didn't come from Lowell did they? Yeah-Charles turned me on to this country as well. Two enormous plastic bins later the stuff still keeps coming! Welcome to Hungary Stogie!
hunyadi Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) I just noticed that the ribbon bar for the silver grade looked a little funny - its the ribbon for the post 1963 15 year service medal. I also just checked my ribbon bin and I dont have a correct one for you either.... Jeff - no one is safe anymore... now if only more of the Rakosi uniforms would come to the USA market.... Stogieman Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 OK, Greetings & well wishes to Charles from Rick Research! As well as some spiffy new scans that were requested awhile back. (My apologies for the delay... no point in me attempting to mimic the master's skills) Front & back of Bronze Grade Case:
Stogieman Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 and, the Order itself (all scans courtesy of Rick Research)
hunyadi Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Very nice finds! There are some real gems in there Rick! I love the floral pattern scuff plates. Not seen to often. Now you need 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st classes -
Ulsterman Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 ARGH!!!!!!! I hate competition! Where did you get THAT???! Not Lowell, please say not Lowell!
Stogieman Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 No, Zsolt is helping me, have not been to Lowell since last time we met. Will not be there this Sunday either and if you're smart..... you will not be there either! ;>)
Stogieman Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Well, I continue to search for the higher grades of this order, preferably cased. I've had no luck on the net. Can anyone recommend a reliable source anywhere on the net? (I know about the set Igor has..... but the price!)
Stogieman Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I also have this "Klein Dekoration" of the First Class Grade on a bar:
cimbineus Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I also have this "Klein Dekoration" of the First Class Grade on a bar: Dear Stogieman, This is an excellent bar and many thanks for sharing the picture with us. I am sorry, but I think that this is the Klein Dekoration of the Second Grade and not that of the First Grade. Here is a picture of all Fifth Grades, I mean the four Klein Dekorations for First to Fourth Grades and the Fifth Grade itself: Regards, cimbineus
Stogieman Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 Thank you for your help and for sharing these examples!
Ulsterman Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 OMG!!! Where did you get that lovely, lovely bar? :0
Stogieman Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Hi Jeff, I negotiated a price off eBay awhile back. It was originally posted in the Romanian Forum as I was hoping the numbered order could be researched. never did get an answer on that question. Thought it was time to add it to this thread so all my examples were in the same place!
