The manufacturer of these """" 1. class with crown&swords""""" was Leser.

It is the latest type of Leser, used for MVK1X, second and third classes.

The MVK1Kr X was not made oft this Type 3.

Sorry but your MVK is a fake.

    Hi,

a question, Did Leser make these up to and after 1945? If so, was it possible that they made replacement pieces like this in the 30s or 40s?

We must differentiate between private purchase (for veterans) and fake (to fool collectors)...

    Hello Chris,

this cross is very rare. About 150 awardings. The MVK was a returnable decoration, if the owner died ( till 1934).

The enamel of this cross looks very bad. In my opinion, it was a third class, new gilt and the medaillon were new enamelled.

I don't know if Leser sell this crosses after the war, but it is possible.

This postwar decoration looks like Leser, but I have no acknowledgement for it.

The swords are equal to the swords Type 2.

Precisely what I was anxious about when getting the wonderful new Epson. :banger: That after I scanned some of my "gems," the GMIC experts would educate me about all the fakes in my collection.

I at least had a small gift from Rick Research when I expressed this once; "don't worry about it, we've all had fakes at one time or another." :catjava: Something I hold on to... It's a learning process. The advice received here is priceless. Unfortunately, the fakes cost money.

I've had this MVK for almost 8 years. I joined GMIC 5 years ago. Live and learn.

Can I at least make myself feel better by calling it a "reproduction"?:whistle:

The late Leser MVK is not rare and therefore not very expensive, but
determines the winner was very proud of it.

Yes, but I'm at work for a couple of days. This is the best I could do at the moment. I'll update with better pictures at the beginning of next week.

Thank's, but on this picture i couldn't identify a maker.

I'll wait for better pictures. The lion looks like the Hemmerle-lion.

    Hi Andreas,

Thanks. I'll be sure to get a picture a soon as possible.

Do you know of any auction-listings of a 2. klasse Ritter? All I could find was the one sold on the Thies auction last December.

    Best regards

The only one of these I've ever seen was in Nuremberg in the 80s. I found a most wonderful militaria shop in the "old city" as I remember us calling the area around the castle. The shope owner had an amazing selection of Bavarian decorations with I think almost all classes on the MVO and MVK. Does anyone on the forum live nearby this place? I don't know if it still exists.

I've always wanted to collect these but I only come across the most common classes.

    OK, let's change,

here the top highlight of my collection.

    It is a Hemmerle

I would have never thought to come to such a rare MVK.

By a happy coincidence I've come to it.

We're not talking about the money, because it was not cheap, but I'm very happy. :jumping:

This cross had been for long years in a bavarian collection.

I'm not able to get any better pictures with my crap-cellphone, but through the loup it looks like 75 and EQ. That's Hemmerle, right?

Not sure if I remeber right but i think I've heard that Ludwig II did not only instituted the order but also designed it. Is this true?

    Best regards

    Hello Christian,

Idon't know if King Ludwig designed this decoration, I've never heared something about this.

The marking EQ is Eberhard Quellhorst II ( son). Quellhorst II produces from 1866 till 1901.The successor of Quellhorst was Weiss.

    Hello,

    here my newest entry.

A Hemmerle MVK second class. The agraffe is stamped with GH 900.

It is a MVK, second type from 1905 till 1913 without swords. It is made of silver.

That's the reason, why this MVK looks so good. It was found by a treasure hunter in the ground.

Now I'm looking for a ribbon.

    Hello,

congratulation to this nice silver gilt MVO.

    Is it a second class?

Did you get this award with its box?

Are there any markings on the MVO?

What is its weight of the single cross?

I'm not a specialist with the higher grades of the MVO, so I want to become some informations about it.

    Thank's for showing
