Paul R Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 ..Don,That is an amazing bar!! What is the white substance on the EK and War Service Cross?RegardsPaul
Guest Rick Research Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 That's the M1825-1913 Prussian/Reichs long service brooch for XXI years service. When the long service awards for NCOs were changed in 1913, the old IX, XV, and XXI brooches were changed to IX and XII medals and an XV cross, and that is what the Naughty Person has chosen to wear--incorrectly-- with the XXV authorized for "other ranks" and officials (as well as previously for officers) in 1914 but suspended (for everybody) until after the war.Usually the two awards like that show up in October 1936+ groups misinterpreting the Wehrmacht long service awards regiulations. Your man was ahead of the curve on that.
CHRIS W Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Hi Don, Besides the Red Cross medal on mine our bars are the same.Chris
dond Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Nice bar Chris. And in much better condition than mine too.
