Chris Boonzaier Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Hi Chip, that is a veeeery nice can, I think I am still missing one of those. or I have a Mingy one around somewhwere. I just bought some interesting stuff, i wont mention what or the post Jinx will loose them... but watch this space!!!
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 This is not waht i was waiting for, but is one of my nicer ones... the filter is virgin, no rust, the can has a really light color, and some rust I must treat...
Chip Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Yeah, the very first official can had a concave ring around the middle, while later Gummimaske cans and all subsequent cans had a convex ring (see the two in the photo). Of course, the wooden body can is an exception. The straps were a light cotton canvas. Chip Edited January 12, 2013 by Chip

Chris Boonzaier Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 A battlefield find which belongs to my friend Killer2lamor
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 From a series i will call this "mask 1" It has the concave ring, but not the 4 rivets in the lid like chips.... I am assuming an early tim....
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Mask 2 I think a very late tin? Has a slight raise on the lid....
ccj Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Super examples I want to find a really nice example to use with my display. So many of the ones found lately are in poor shape.
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Mask 3 A Gummimaske, as Chip says, a later one with convex ring... it does not have the thing at the bottom of the tin to keep the filter from the bottom...
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 This I guess is the standard one, but was never green, it is a period sand color...
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 With the Schnappdeckle on the filter...
Hoss Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Mask and carrier with frag hit and wound stain from my collection. Regards Eric
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Wow.... theat may be the most desirable mask I have seen!!!!

Chip Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Eric, First time I have seen a "1" size marked Tasche. I have two "2"s and I have seen "3"s before, but except in photos, never a "1". Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Here is a postcard, was not cheap, but I had to have it ;-)
