Thierry Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Bonjour, Do youu identified last ribbon ? Crdl Thierry
J Temple-West Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 The officer is Georg Keppler Many pre WW2 awards....almost impossible to give a complete list from these pictures. However, the 1st on the left is the EK 2 with 1939 spange, 4th from the left is most likely to be the Hindenburg cross and the one next to last is the 1st October 1938 Sudetenland Medal with Prague Bar. This link to 'Wikipedia' will hopefully be of some help in your research. http://en.wikipedia....i/Georg_Keppler
Ulsterman Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Isn't his file one of Mike Millers' SS officers series? It MUST (almost certainly) be something foreign. I think I see a device ("v" shaped?) on the ribbon. Could it be a Hungarian WW1 commemorative? I think I discern a slight "ladder" in the middle.
Thierry Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Bonjour, Another view. Thierry Edited February 25, 2012 by Thierry
Ulsterman Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Oddly enough- that looks like the Austrian 1914-18 war medal in pre- Anschluss placement.
Thierry Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Oddly enough- that looks like the Austrian 1914-18 war medal in pre- Anschluss placement. No, it's Silesian Eagle Cross. Thierry
Dave Danner Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Here is a larger version of the ribbon bar. There is definitely a device on this one. I don't think it is the same ribbon as on his other Feldspange, either - the patterns don't really match well. With the round device, this may be the Slovak Bravery Medal. 1
922F Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Another possibility----Bulgarian bravery ribbon: Note aspect of the thin, different contrasting stripe &, under magnification, the rhombic device shape [perhaps a tzarist Bulgarian crown]. If a Bulgarian crown, most likely a Military Merit Order officer or commander but possibly a Military Bravery Order fourth class, first grade.

M Hunter Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 My guess would be Bulgarian Bravery Order with a device like this one. Best wishes Matt
M Hunter Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Wouldn't the ribbon be pale blue? Initially yes it would have been but obviously it has not aged so well after 70 odd years....
