dwmosher Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) All I have tried to decipher this name and have reviewed the 14-18 army honor rank list and the 1914 and 1918 navy rank lists where there could be a possible fit, but nothing seems even close. If you have any thoughts on him I would appreciate it. It would appear that he was awarded the EK1 and the Turkish half moon. Regards and thanks in advance Dave Edited April 13, 2012 by dwmosher
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Well, Rotellia or Rotellio were my first 2 guesses, but they are of course wrong :-(
dwmosher Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Thanks, Chris. A friend provide his thoughts: Rohtlis or Rohblis. I came up with Rotiblis or Roschlis. Nothing very close in the rank lists...
Daniel Krause Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hi Dave, it is quite blurry. But I think it is possible to check in the Navy Honor rank list for a 1st Lt with "Roh...". Give me some time for it. Greetings Daniel P.S. Could You already decide about my offer? :-)
ccj Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Looks like Rob to me but I was hoping someone had the Navy Rank List. roh...rot...rob... ???
The Prussian Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Hello! What do we read right of the name? Here are the pages of the Marine Rangliste for the letter "R"The first two pages are from 1914, the rest from 1918.Maybe you find a match
ccj Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 My eyes can't make out the names. I may print and try a magnifying glass.
The Prussian Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Why?Click on the list. Then bottom left "Full size" and thne + on the mag-glass...
Chip Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 The rank is "OLt.d.R.", so would he be in a normal Rangliste? I thought Reserve officers were not included.Chip
The Prussian Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 That´s right Chip, but when he used to be a Reserve-Odffdiver in the war-time, he could be an active one in a peace-Rangliste.
Chip Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) Well, with a lower officer rank like this, it is somewhat less likely that he was a prewar officer and it is especially less so since we have not been able to find him in the Ranglisten. Nur meine Meinungen. Edited June 12, 2015 by Chip
ccj Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 What's the proper belt worn with the field gray tunic for a Seebataillon Officer? The black leather, the black(blue-black) web or the brocade
ccj Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I still have yet to make out the name. I never got a belt for the setup either, but, I did get an officer Shako and cover
The Prussian Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 A shot in the dark... Rangliste 1913 has a "Oberleutnant Rabius" in II.Seebataillon (Wilhelmshaven)
ccj Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Looks like Roh??is or Rob??ls to me but it's possible to be Rab... or Rah... or R??????? really, I'm not sure the name ends in S
