JapanX
Dear Members Please help me with this one. What type, what class and how old / rare is this order? Regards North Denmark Hi North Denmark, well it is 5th class (a.k.a. Member) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant. This one looks like it was made in silver and has nice hot enamel, so it's not from the last horrible vintages I'd say this piece was made in 50s-60s and definitely before 1978 (when the Order was reorganized and the form of suspension was changed). Before 1978 5th class of this order should be the most numerous one (since the number of holders for this class was unrestricted as opposed to higher classes). Hope that helps! Regards, Nick

Regards, Nick Thanks Nick, you are a great help . I also have this version which is smaller 59*31.5 mm.There are also other differences as you can see. Is this an older type? (Order of the Dannebrog Christian X 1912-1947. Danish Red Cross Decoration of Honor 1916-1963) Regards North Denmark Edited April 22, 2012 by North Denmark

JapanX
Nice bar with Companion (4th class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant! Very well made piece and I think it blended pretty well (by time period) with Danish Orders. Cheers, Nick
North Denmark
Hi North Denmark, If you PM me, I have a possible recipient for that last bar. /Michael Thanks to Great Dane for Great Help. Without revealing the name of the recipient, I can say that the Order of the White Elephant is awarded before 1919. Japan X You're right about the metal, silver gilt but without marks
