Paul R Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Really cool stuff there! Thanks for starting this thread!
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 In continuation of the subject … Additional examples of technical marks. Here we have very interesting mark that could be found on 1985 Jubilee 2nd class OPW. “||”
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Now something different… Something that looks like “X”
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Among all jubilee OPW’s orders only small portion of the 2nd class orders was marked. It looks like all marked orders are located in diapason between 2 673 401 – 2 900 000. All these orders were manufactured by КЯК (Калининградский янтарный комбинат/Kaliningrad Amber plant).
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Back to war vintage. Early 2nd class with double “o” mark.
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) 1st class with very interesting mark that looks like “W” or “M” Edited June 14, 2012 by JapanX
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Interesting that sometimes technical mark could be found next door to serial number or even inside serial number. Take a look at these two examples. Half “X”
JapanX Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Isosceles “L” (we saw this one before ) Ot maybe it is void "T"? Go figure...
