Freiwillige
Dear gentlemen, please assist me in personification of this WH Oberstleutnant, Great War participant and colonial fighter. Your help with identification of his impressive ribbon bar is most welcome! The most notable point is the Russian Imperial Order of St.Anna, 2 Class worn as a neck award. This is the first WH portrait with such an award in my collection. Portrait was made in 1939 in a photo atelier in Halle.

Freiwillige
Scan of the reverse. First part of a dedication remains a mystery to me (something senseless like "Me u hut von Ammie") but the final part was read by my German colleague as "Seiner lieben Emmeli Engelhardt zur Erinnerung an die schönen Tage in Bad Elster Juni-Juli 1940". saschaw
Interesting picture! I assume he received his Russian order in late or post-WW1 era by Awaloff, for fighting the Bolshevik? Unlikely a pre-WW1 award in my eyes.
