Solomon Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 (edited) Hi,again here is an nice example from Lippe-Detmold:War merit cross Lippe-Detmold with original paper bag and documentThere were about 18.000 awards for combatans (white-red-yellow ribbon) and only about 1000 for non-combatants (white center on ribbon). The paper bag is an original (with a old repair on one side) and a name written with a pencil on its back ("Redeker").The document is also an original (but does not really match to the cross...i bought it seperate).I like very much its design On the reverse of the document you can find the statutes for the war merit cross ( eight paragraphs...).By the way the documents for the rare "war cross for heroic deeds" look very similar...My question:Does anybody own another paper bag for this cross? I?ve never seen a similar one...I?m quite sure that it is very rare, but other bags should exist...Greetings Solomon Edited February 6, 2006 by Solomon
Solomon Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 ...and last but not least the document
Guest Rick Research Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 THAT is a beautiful document!!! It is nice to see that SOME states went to the trouble and effort of making such a worthy recognition of its citizens' war services!
Solomon Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 Upps...i?ve forgotten something...Something small i?ve also in my collection 1) Feldspange with the war merit cross (WWII)2) the miniature of the crossGreetingsSolomon
VtwinVince Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Very nice items indeed. I particularly like the old-fashioned titling on the document: Hochfuerstliche Durchlaucht.
Stogieman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 There's been a couple of these that have floated through here.... Very hard to find packet. Very hard to find mounted on the bar!
Stogieman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I would be remiss if I did not post a Combattant Version as well! ;>)
