Paul R Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 This set is for a Housing Officer who was in Manchuria. While not awarded from combat valor, it is still a rare Japanese front award!

A very nice Far East theater of operations award. Regards, slava1stclass
Paul R Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 Thanks Slava, It says that it was endorsed on 01Sep1943. I guess that is when it was written up then? Weird that it took so long to be processed. regards Paul

Weird that it took so long to be processed. regards Paul Chief, It appears to be a simple typo both in the Award Records Card date entry for the OPW II as well as in the Award Recommendation/Citation Sheet. As confirmation, note that he only first entered combat on 9 August 1945. Regards, slava1stclass
Paul R Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Thanks! I guess our US Personel Records are not the only places where errors are found. Are you active duty?
Paul R Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks Jeff! I am really starting to get back into these again. I am finding a VoG to match up with it as well, as he was eligible for that too.
