Bavaria Bavarian MVK to other Länder ?

Realting to NCOs and other ranks...Although we see awards from different Länder on bars for prussian soldiers... so far I have not had a group where a Prussian has had a MVK in their document group.

As Bavarian Generals awarded the EK, could it be that they awarded that instead and reserved the bavarian medals just for Bavarian soldiers?

Here is a small group to an NCO of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 47. The Bavarian King was colonel in chief of this regiment, so the regiment´s soldiers also get some Bavarian MVK.

The awarded soldier, Bruno Märkel survived the war and was a aspirant engine-driver in 1934.

They were awarded to non-Bavarians definitely, but probably in lower numbers than Eks went to Bavarians.

I wonder if this award was simply because of the kings connection to the regt?

I guess the easiest way for a non bavarian to get one would t be a Prussian in a Non bavarian regt of the Alpenkorps?

I have a couple of awards of EKs by Bavarian Generals to non bavarians....

Basically, the easiest way was to be in IR 47 or Württemberg FAR 29 or Saxon IR 102. When awards of the Military Merit Order and Cross to non-Bavarians were announced in the Verordnungsblatt, these units often had their own section because of the number of awards. Then you'd have a list of random awards to officers and men in a bunch of different units. Many of these were probably Bavarian natives, though, just serving in the Prussian Army. A lot of the others were in support units, so they were probably units tasked with supporting Bavarian units or commands. There's a pretty heavy bias toward officers in these lists, by the way.

In my collection is an prussian bar with a MVK 1. class on it.

Possible, the owner was a soldier in such a prussian troop with bavarian owner, or it was an bavarian inhabitant in a prussian troop.
