IrishGunner
It was recommended by Bill that we try building a thread with links to other websites with information about WWI Vics. Bill: "Talking of links - is there any mileage in having a thread with links to other web sites with information about the WW1 vics? There is a French site - http://www.medailles...ies-medail.html - with sections for all the Allies. I expect most people here have favourite web sites like this - if there was a dedicated thread we could post the links. It would not need any chat, just the name and link, and a note of whether it's vics in general or for one country." I'll also comb through the Websites and Book Forums eventually to extract anything of value that may have landed there... So, thanks to Bill for the first entry; if you have any favorite sites for research regarding Vics, post them here... I'm also going to pin this to hopefully grab more attention. Bilco
Hi Gents, There are several Italian sites that deal with the vics in general as well as their own: http://www.faleristica.it/collezione.php?id=5 A general page on the vics - if you click on the photos on the right-hand side another pane opens. http://miles.forumcommunity.net/?t=9288433 A forum dealing with all the vics ... http://miles.forumcommunity.net/?t=49110969 ... and a thread about Italian vics. http://www.iagiforum.info/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=4767 Another forum dealing with all the vics. I use Google Translate to get them into my language of choice. Bill Edited February 13, 2013 by Bilco

johnnymac
To all: my book the "World War I Victory Medals" will be selling on Amazon U.S. and U.K . Release date will be July 16, 2014. I packed it with many enlarged photos, so without question collectors will be able to tell an official clasp from an unofficial one. lambert
Customer Reviews I recommend this book to those who want to start collecting the Victory Medal of the countries involved in the Great War. This is a book to have experienced collectors. Each chapter are specifications on the original and restrike and reproduction medals, the section on Victory Medal USA has a wonderful section that details all medals and reissues and closing corresponding to battle fought campaign. The author shows direct, information acquired during many years of research manner. CONGRATULATIONS! Receives my highest recommendations. davidck
Can someone describe what updates there are in the 2016 version of johnnymac's book? I'm considering trying to find one, but don't want to drop $60 on it if it's only updates on the American clasps, as I have not taken to collecting those.
