Stogieman Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 As a request, I am reposting images of a Red Star awrded to a Bulgarian. Please see images below. His name was Nikola Mirchev Filipov
Aurelius Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 A very nice rare find!!!!!! Congrats! Could be KGB or Bulgarian Security Services?
922F Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks for posting this remarkable Red Star! Awarded in 1969......any idea why Filipov received this award? Major Sino-Soviet border disputes earlier that year or left-over from '68's Prague Spring?
Stogieman Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 I believe this was a 25 year anniversery of WW2 award. He was Bulgarian State Security, but not his entire career.
RedMaestro Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks for posting, Rick! This is indeed a 25th anniversary award, but for the Socialist Revolution of September 9, 1944 rather than WWII.
Paul R Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 That is a beautiful award Rick!!! I have never seen one inside of its presentation case like that before.
Stogieman Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 You are correct of course, 25 years of the Revolution
