QSAMIKE Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I have posted this in another form and have been asked to post it here for your information and fun..... Good Evening Gentlemen...... Just got this frame back from a local museum that I had loaded it to for one of their display's...... I broke the Plexiglas that I had in the frame and this is the first time that I have had a chance to get some photo's without the glare...... Thought I would share..... Mike
coldstream Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Mike, A stunning display, you know how to make people jealous!!! I would imagine that collecting examples with all the bars would be a very difficult and expensive task now? Regards Simon.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 How long did that take to complete all possible bars?

Thank You Simon and Rick...... I have rotated some of the medals / bars in an out of the frame so it is a continuing work of love..... I would not like to try to put it together now.......... It took me about 12 years to put it all together Rick, the hardest medal to find of course was the Dated Reverse and that took me nearly 25 years to find an original but also then it was hard to find a shadow box frame to fit it all..... Mike
Brian Wolfe Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Mike, I could not have imagined such a collection existed outside of a museum. Well done. Regards Brian

Guest Rick Research Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 So the obvious question after such a determined quest is: what next?
QSAMIKE Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 So the obvious question after such a determined quest is: what next? Well Rick I have been collecting QSA's and Boer War items for over 45 years now so I don't think that I will give up yet...... LOL Mike
Mervyn Mitton Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hi - Mike. A very impressive collection and of course just a small part - how many now ? I think Brian will agree with me , that this is worthy of posting for Member's reference for a while. However, with the three boards they will not enlarge sufficiently to read the details. Would it be possible for you to split the post and show each board on it's own. There is a standard size for first showing - however, if the original post is quite large, I do think when you click that they come-up bigger - I may be wrong on this , perhaps some one can confirm ? Mervyn
QSAMIKE Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) Good Morning Mervyn....... Thank you for the kind comments...... How many do I have well lets put it this way when my collection is sold it would be an auction that I would have loved to attend..... LOL I will post some pictures of each individual medal and description..... Mike I will start with the different types of reverse...... Edited July 23, 2013 by QSAMIKE
