I have posted this in another form and have been asked to post it here for your information and fun.....

    Good Evening Gentlemen......

Just got this frame back from a local museum that I had loaded it to for one of their display's......

I broke the Plexiglas that I had in the frame and this is the first time that I have had a chance to get some photo's without the glare......

    Thought I would share.....

    Mike,

A stunning display, you know how to make people jealous!!! I would imagine that collecting examples with all the bars would be a very difficult and expensive task now?

    Regards Simon.

How long did that take to complete all possible bars?

    Thank You Simon and Rick......

I have rotated some of the medals / bars in an out of the frame so it is a continuing work of love.....

I would not like to try to put it together now..........

It took me about 12 years to put it all together Rick, the hardest medal to find of course was the Dated Reverse and that took me nearly 25 years to find an original but also then it was hard to find a shadow box frame to fit it all.....

Mike, I could not have imagined such a collection existed outside of a museum.

    Well done.

    Regards

    Brian

    Thanks Brian.....

That is why I had to loan it to a museum LOL......

So the obvious question after such a determined quest is:

    what next?

Hi - Mike. A very impressive collection and of course just a small part - how many now ?

I think Brian will agree with me , that this is worthy of posting for Member's reference for a while.

However, with the three boards they will not enlarge sufficiently to read the details. Would it be

possible for you to split the post and show each board on it's own.

There is a standard size for first showing - however, if the original post is quite large, I do think when

you click that they come-up bigger - I may be wrong on this , perhaps some one can confirm ? Mervyn

I will post some pictures of each individual medal and description.....

    Mike

I will start with the different types of reverse......

Mike, I have only just seen your posts, very impressive. I have been toying with the idea of collecting QSA's to Town Guards, as a side to groups, however this display has certainly provided some food for thought. Thank you. Gavin

    Mike

    QSA aren't familiar to me.

Are the remaining ones you need :

    paricular bars ?

or awards to particulary units of the cavalry / navy with any bar?

i ask because otherwise I'll keep telling you about QSA I spot!

    Eg:

ive noticed a QSA on eBay. I don't know how international eBay works so in case you aren't aware of it

2 bar Medal named to soldier from 2nd Wiltshire Reg (not cav/naval obv)

bars- Orangefree county and Cape colony....

seperately listed his star and vic  medals.
