QSAMIKE Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Good Evening....... Love garage sales at home so while away on holiday must also have a go at finding things...... Here is my latest..... Now just to get it home..... A Dispatch Rider's helmet that was left behind by the Canadians when they went home...... Not bad for 20 Euros...... Mike 1
Paul R Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 That is a sweet helmet! When was it made? Is it dated?
JapanX Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 "Not bad" Mike?! More like "a bargain" for original MP from 1942 Congrats! Cheers, Nick
JapanX Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) If I remember correctly BMB stands for Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd... Edited August 31, 2013 by JapanX
Odulf Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) In april 1944 different colored bands around the helmet were introducd, to distinguish between the three "wings" of the Military Police and Provost units: - a red band, for the Provost Wing; - a white band, for the Traffic Control Wing; - a dark blue band, for the Vulnarable Points Wing.
