fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 (edited) Enough for now! More later. Please fill in the holes . . . Why did you start this up again!!! Just joking, I've been putting this off too!! There are just too many of these!!!I'll do my best and fill a few gaps, and add a few variations of ones already posted.JClet me start with an R52 (Military Academy) and two NIBs Edited October 13, 2006 by fjcp
fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 An R67 (technical University) NIB variation and a NIB!
fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Three R54 (State Pedagogical Institute) variations, one with realy dark enamel.
fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 A R57 variation (medical Institute) and a NIB, If I remember correctly it's from the "Railroad College"
fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 A NIB but same construction as R67 and a painted R57.
fjcp Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Last ones for now! Both NIBs. The first one has what looks like an atom symbol with electrons and all, so probably for a nuclear physics degree, or is that Nucular?? On second thoughts it's probably a religious institute badge like R82, but da nucular thing is funnier!JC
Ed_Haynes Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 Thanks, mate!Especially after 1992, these have gone crazy. Some day someone may sort them out. Maybe the best we can do now is to record them.Has anyone ever seen one with the pre-1960 coat of arms? Maybe R 46 is all we see of the pre-1960 badges? Speaking of that, anyone ever seen a badge for Choibalsan State University? Thanks again!
Stogieman Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Fascinating presentation... I have quite a few of the Soviet ones but have (so far....) resisted the Mongolian ones as the complexity/variety is daunting....
Ed_Haynes Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Nice early one.R 46 -- Mongolian State University
Ed_Haynes Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 OK, I have had it. I think there are more of these than there are aimag badges! If anyone has any not shown here, could they please post them. (That is "anyone" of the three or four who read this forum!)I am trying to come up with a key to these pesky things.

DutchBoy Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Guys,Quite a few people jumped on the bandwagon with Mongolian items. The folks that are left are the true die-hards like yourselves, and you are the people doing 90% of the work in this field. Don't get discouraged, there are more people reading these posts than you think.

Ed_Haynes Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Thanks. Have been playing with a sory of "key" to these badges (how good it is to be done with classes and exams!) and am now up to 46 pages. Will send (BIG) PDF to any who are interested, though still much a work in progress.
fjcp Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Here they are.I've gone trough my dictionary to see if any of the abbreviations are listed but no luck yet.JC
