Is this real, or is this something that someone cranked out in a shed in Odes'ka?

From the rear, the document looks like that organization that made their own version of medals (something or something to fund their political party ) and then awarded them on vets etc, they have their own OPW 1 and 2 and Lenin made in like Czechoslovakia or something.

This is not a soviet medal.

This is ukrainian veteran commemorative medal for the paricipants of combat operations.

With bar "Vietnam"

Thanks for the word Japan. One has to wonder why, in a society that gives decorations to old ladies who clean out the toilets in the Moscow subway system, that the USSR never came up with something of their own for their Vietnam vets.

I think they decided that general medals like for military merit or bravery and orders (red stars and red banner) are more than enough.
