Mijke Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 And here is the third one.....thanks to DS for suggesting using my scanner for pictures....they slide a bit but it is easier in some ways. Mike
Mijke Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 OK....since I'm on a roll....has anyone out there ever seem the Lawyer's/Justice stickpin with oakleaves as shown in He/Hu book?
Scowen Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Very nice Mike. These are new to me as well....... Can't quite make out the wording on the bottom pin, is it for shooting?Oh, & no, I haven't seen the justice with oakleaves eitherCheersDon

Scowen Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Don, It is "Schutzenverband".......more to come.Best,MikeThanks & looking forward to seeing more CheersDon
Mijke Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Question: What does an Imperial/Weimar organization do when the Nazis come into power and they LIKE their original organization design? (see He-Hu p. 374 1f) Note words are: Bei strenger Pflicht getreu und schleicht------
Mijke Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 [attachmentid=59373]Answer: they just add the swastika to the original.....and I suppose that they can take it off when the next group comes into power!
Mijke Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Sorry about that foul up....got confused....now what is this one??? Mike
Mijke Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 And here is an interesting one...at least to me...originally thought it was a German Cross....but not for long!! Mike
Mijke Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 And here is the back----and before Don can ask: the words are "POL.FACHSCHAFT" "THURINGEN" and the manufacturer is WERNSTEIN JENA
BURGERHAUS Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Hello Mike Some very interesting and nice finds you have there. I want to make a guess on your last piece but will wait for others to opine first. Thanks for showing. Robert
Scowen Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Now you take all my fun away by answering my questions before I've even read the post You know me too well Some great pins there Mike. No real idea as to what the last couple are, a Fachschaft is a sort of trade association or union, but what the POL bit is for?? I imagine that Polizei is too easy, what do you think Robert?I like the first one with the added Swaz, very nicely done as well. Thanks for sharing.CheersDon
BURGERHAUS Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Well since you asked, I will vote for, and don't laugh, a sheep expert? I have been fumbling thru my dictionary for 30 minutes so far and this is my guess. Oh Mr. Rosenberg, where art thou? Please check in when you get home from work and help us out. But seriously, the design is so similar to an RLB that parhaps it is related in some way to that organization. Robert
Scowen Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 While we're waiting for Rosenberg, here's a members pin for the NS Beamtenfachschaft (The NS Official Trade Association) H? 3507a. It's so tiny, measuring only 12.34mm across.
Scowen Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Reverse marked GRR, the scanner just can't pick it up I'm afraid
Mijke Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Nice wee pin Don.......could get lost in a collection!! Here is another one that I really like. Mike
Mijke Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 OK----it's not a stickpin, but what the heck.......I'm on a roll!!!
Scowen Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 And keep 'em rolling 4 more beauties there Mike. The one in post 193 looks like the centre from a Nordfont cross, very interesting. I love the last one Thanks for helping keep the thread alive.CheersDon
Mike Dunn Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Don't have any WWII era stickpins as most of mine are Imperial but these kinda relate.. Mike
--dj--Joe Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Mike Dunn, nice items! Are any of the crosses marked?--dj--Joe
Rosenberg Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 A lot of first timers for me here! While I still wonder what Robert had in mind when he looked up the sheep,I don?t come up with better ideas Polizei been my first thought, but considering Egendorf it might also be Politische Fachschaft.I have never seen that certain pin before, but the design is somewhat similar to the German police star.I am clueless.Sorry,mates.
Scott Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I've always liked stickpins and organizational badges. At one time I had case-fulls. I still have a few knocking around. Here's a set of 3 party pins...
