The Daily Mail has US experts saying between 7000 and 13000 pounds. (US$11,200 & 78,000)

Probobly around there too, 1mil sounded excessive, but then again, do these US experts want to buy the coin? :D biggest bang for the "buck" hehehe I'm so bad in these jokes :D

It books in the standard reference work at $12,000 in extremely fine condition. It appears to be a very nice example but much over £10,000 will be an exceptional price. Still I wouldn't mind finding something like that. Usually all UK metal detectors find is crotal bells and brooch pins.

To see the power of a metal detector, read "Quest for the Lost Roman Legions: Discovering the Varus Battlefield" by Tony Clunn. Clunn alternates between his incredible modern quest, and the ancient tale of the Roman occupation of Germany (based upon actual finds from the battlefield) that ultimately ended so tragically in the peat bogs of Kalkriese.
