Paul R Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 My wife is wanting a ring that is made from coins(there is a ring maker that does this). I need a fairly common coin that is from either Italy or Ireland that is about 23mm in diameter. Is there a denomination that meets this requirement? Regards Paul
Hoyden R. Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) I saw this guy's work, so now I have to have a ring made from a coin from either Italy or Ireland. I'm trying to find a ring made of silver that is about 23mm. It's a challenge to find one with a nice design around the edge. My biggest finger is a rather loose size 6, so we can't use one of the bigger coins that I really like. Any idea how we can run down such a coin?https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArtifactCoinRings I like the Gothic florins as well. Edited November 5, 2014 by Hoyden R.
paul wood Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Dear Paul and Hoyden.Paul.An Italian gold 20 lire of either Victor Emanuel II or Umberto I will be the nearest at around 21.5-22mm, can be purchased at little more than scrap in average condition, there is an Irish coin in gold that would fit, it is a gold pistole from the great rebellion of the 1640s but you would not get any change out of $100,000 and the chance of finding one is slim to say the least.HoydenAn Irish republic shilling of 1928-66 is 23.5mm, quite nice it has a harp one side and a bull the other, or alternatively a 19th century Italian 1 lire will also do the trick. All the best,Paul
Claudius Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Love the work of the ring maker! |<ris one ring to rule them all....

paul wood Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 You should be able to pick a nice one up on E-Bay for $50 or under (perhaps try the Irish E-bay (you might get some nice Guinness medallions).Paul
Paul R Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 Thank you all!! We will post the finished image here. :-)
