I presume from this that I can display a degree I haven't earned or other qualifications? I agree this is somewhat confusing given the Stolen Valor Act doesn't allow for this kind of thing. One would assume that when you saw a service person with medals or especially ribbons you would be able to see what level of service they had served their country and what campaigns they had been in.

Seems rather ridiculous... in essence it means that a collector may not purchase a Medal of Honor for his collection but if he gets hold of one somehow he can prance around wearing it!

Maybe, but there is still fraud. Wearing medals and uniforms with the intent to obtain unearned rewards is still a felony.

    Hi,

Here is an unpopular thought.... subjectively we dislike these people, but objectively, what makes a Military WALT worse than any other, other than being tasteless.?

Sure, we see them as people encroaching on our turf, but as long as they are not getting illegal gains, where do we draw the lines?

A guy telling BS stories about the world record biggest fish he has caught and having beers bought for him as he tells them. A guy in a bar telling women he is an airline pilot to get them into bed.

there are walts in all walks of life, I would go as far as to say, there were probably just as many military Walts, if not more back in the old days. I have heard some super BS from WW2 vets.

I find them more pityfull than anythig else.

    best

The guy in the bar reminds me of the BS stories I told in my younger days for exactly the same purpose, it occasionally worked.

Dr. Muckaroon, I agree with you.  Did you print off your M.D. certificate yet?  Yale is a great logo to put on it.

It is only a matter of time until the attempt to get monetary gains as well.  How long before one of these guys requests vet benefits or va help.   It is sad how there are no rules anymore   People used to be appalled by this sort of thing, but now it only matters how the individual "feels" rather than what is right or not.   How on earth is this ok with people?

The ruling was by a court in California which is a very, very liberal state and in San Francisco as well. There are limits to free speech in the US and they should be applied in this case.
