hucks216
I can't say I have seen a photo of someone in the Wasserzoll before. Nice clear image. What colour would the waffenfarbe be on his cap?
Laurence Strong
From what I can find out it would be the Zoll green. It appears the only difference between a "land" and a "wasser" were the anchor buttons and they have crossed anchors on the shoulder boards. LarryT
Thanks guys! I agree with Laurence. Landzoll uniform with anchor buttons instead of RFV and crossed anchor cyphers on boards. Would the buttons be the same colour as KM ones? Cheers, Larry
Jock Auld
Quite unusual, I wonder what was on the other end of the string attached to his pocket?

Jock Auld
I think so too Larry but with such a crisp image I just want to reach in and open his pocket and see, alas not to be!
Odulf
Would he not be a bit young to wear the Hindenburg Cross?
LarryT
He does look a little young to be wearing the Hindenburg cross. Could he be wearing his father's HC ribbon? Good information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Honour_Cross_of_the_World_War_1914/1918 There was a next-of-kin ribbon but the colours are in a different order.
