Nick Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 TonyLooks like a genuine Third Reich Era Ribbon Bar to me.
Mike Dunn Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I only have one ribbon bar in my collection. So here it is. MIke
Deruelle Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Hi Mike, Beautiful ribbon bar. I love the device "Gren. R. 3". I think it is only a soldier's ribbon bar. It is possible to see the back of this beauty ! Thanks for sharingChristophe
Tony Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Hi Tony, For me it's a good 1930's ribbon bar for a NCO. But our guru have to give its opinion. He'is the expert.RegardsChristophe←Thanks Christophe.Tony
landsknechte Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 I only have one ribbon bar in my collection. So here it is. MIke←Heck of a good start you've got there. I think that's the only ribbon bar that I've seen with a spange on the Treue dem Regiment ribbon!--Chris
Deruelle Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Very nice ribbon bars David :food-smiley-004: Christophe
ccj Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 My rarest ribbon bar and the most beautiful I have jumping EK2EH3aXCM2X with dateSF3bXDACentenarmedailleThis is most beautiful. Please, put my name on it in case something happens to you. Not that I wish for bad to happen... no, I just want to make sure it's safe and that most importantly, I get it.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 ...so far, you mean. They have a way of... accumulating when you get the ribbon bar collecting bug. You already have a pair with the Bavarian ribbon bar and lapel bow ribbon trios. Sets are niiiiice.
Noor Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Definitely ?so far? Even at the moment I am waiting two simple but nice ones by the post!
Noor Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone,I just got those two ribbon bars and I have one question. As I understand, there is: I. 1. EK II 2. Bavaria Milit?r-Verdienstkreuz 3. Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914-18 4. Hungary Magyar H?bor?s Eml?k?rem II. 1. EK II 2. (Silberne?)Milit?rverdienstmedaille 3. Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914-18 4. LS awardIs it possible that the second ribbon bar has also a fifth award? Something like the ribbon EK II has? The second one is longer and this white-black part is a little bit longer as well. Maybe bad explanation but I dont know much about ribbon bars.Anyway I like them! Thanks for looking,Noor Edited July 11, 2007 by Noor
Kev in Deva Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hallo Noor, the medal bar to my eye is for just 4 medals,I think that each ribbon is represented by two pieces of ribbon:2 X Prussian EK 1914 Ribbon,2 X W?rttemberg Military Merit Medal Ribbon,2 X Hindenberg Cross of Honour for Combatants Ribbon,2 X W?rttemberg Military Service Medal (9 years) Ribbon. With time, (and this bar can be dated to circa 1934 onwards by the Hindenberg,) the ribbons have moved slightly.Kevin in Deva
Noor Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Thanks Kev! I was just confused because of the different size of them.Is it right that this type of wrapping is common to the W?rttemberg kingdom?
Deruelle Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 (edited) Hi Noor, It is true that you can find this South style for Bavarian and Wurttemberg ribbon bar. Here I post some ribbon bars from Bavaria.RegardsChristophe Edited July 11, 2007 by Deruelle
Guest Rick Research Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 South German mostly. There was a small but noticeable East Prussian and occasional naval fashion for these, but overwhelming most common for Baden, Bavaria, and W?rttemberg. After the Anschluss, some Austrians also liked it. Sometimes found in the Thuringian Duchies and odd ones as far east as Saxony.

So far I haven't seen one.
