Utgardloki
Is this a genuine piece? I have a bad feeling... Thanks!
spolei
Hello, I do not like the gilding and the shape of the medallion. Here is a picture for comparison. http://www.wikiwand.com/de/Herzoglich_Sachsen-Ernestinischer_Hausorden . Here a silver Knightscross in big picture http://woeschler-orden.de/node/2676 Edited January 11, 2019 by spolei
VtwinVince
Be careful, the Chinese are starting to produce good quality copies of this order.
922F
Suspension crown off -- note round 'drill holes' in arches, Belgian or Hessian type crown format, Crown distance from cross, & poor detail overall. Where was this piece discovered?

saschaw
It would be better to have such a piece in hands than judging by just one picture. I am not sure about this cross! It's definitely no standard type and probably not an awarded cross, but, to be honest, I really don't see "poor detail overall". To me, this looks possibly convincing, with what seems like grounded and polished glass enamel - nothing I'd dismiss just from this picture. It may well be a foreign made wearer's copy. After all, those were widely spread all over Europe...
