The meeting was attended by members of the Spanish, Croatian, French and Walloon legions of the Army as well as the Danish, Finnish, Flemish, Dutch and Norwegian units of the Waffen-SS. On Tuesday afternoon, the participants travelled to the Unter den Linden memorial to lay a wreath in memory of the fallen. This was followed by a tour of the Armoury (Zeughaus) led by the Director of the Army Museums, Konteradmiral z.V. Hermann Lorey. Here, Konteradmiral Lorey explains a rapid-fire gun with 20 barrels, a so-called mortuary organ, from the 17th century. 2

Kriegsmarine Admiral Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 50th anniversary of military service "On 9 April 1942, Admiral Hermann Bauer, Commander of U-boats during the Great War [21 August 1914-04 June 1917], celebrates his 50th anniversary of military service. Our picture is the latest photograph of the admiral." Bauer was placed at the disposal of the Kriegsmarine on 25 July 1939, but he was not mobilised for active service.

Also, on 10 April 1939 the Führer sent him a telegram to congratulate him on his 40th anniversary of military service. 1
