Wessel Gordon Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I'm sure this isn't the right forum but the ''Classifieds'' section seems to have some issues so please excuse me if this post is in an inappropriate thread. I am looking for the insignia of a Prussian/German officer to accompany my Pour le Merite but can't seem to find it on any site. Does somebody perhaps know where I can find some even if it's replica items?
VtwinVince Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Do you mean shoulderboards and collar insignia?
Wessel Gordon Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 I prefer shoulderboards. My SADF collection includes the shoulder boards of a full colonel, the US collection has the four stars of a full general that could be worn on either the lapels or shoulders and I'm working on buying a UK general's insignia which from what I've seen of British uniforms are displayed on the shoulders as well.

Wessel Gordon Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 It's a replica. I always liked the looks of it so I bought it when I got the chance.
1812 Overture Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I have many copies and I would love to sell them to you. . At a cheap price
Wessel Gordon Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 Those are nice copies but I have two issues: 1. Getting the correct ribbon for all those in South Africa would be close to impossible; 2. I don't have a lot of money right now so can't really afford it anyway.
laurentius Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Dear Wessel Gordon, I would urge you to buy genuine medals for your collection. If you were again in a tight-spot money-wise you'd just sell one or two and be on your way again, that's not something you can do with fakes, they are just a waste of money. Kind regards, Laurentius
Wessel Gordon Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 Laurentius, Thanks for the good advice. We are moving soon so all resources have to go into getting that done, consequently my collection will have to remain as it is right now.
