It took some time to find a decent pair of 03 with a Bavarian stamp.... and here they are.... does anyone know what the "Neuer Art" (n.A.) are?

Chris, Neuer Art could be referred to the fact that your binoculars are of the Prismatic type, and not simply binoculars. First Telescopes were used in the field , later ,Binoculars , finally Prismatic Binoculars

Hi, the D.F.03 was already a Prismatic model, that is why "D.F.03 n.A." is a mystery to me

Busch provided his models 010 and 08 to the Army both binoculars ,then the DF03 that was Prismatic . perhaps the n. A refers to his quality of Prismatic .

Hi, Busch is an unusual maker for the 03, but the term "D.F. 03" was an official title which all makers of Issued glasses used... I do not think a singlr maker could change it to imply his product was better ?

Chris , really I am not able to answer about what was permitted or forbidden to the Army Suppliers regarding the propaganda of the Excellence of their products .

Mauser did not write "super accurate" on their production G98 ?

n.A. ist used in German military items when there is an officially recognised change as far as I know... some bayonets are designated n.A. for example

Unfortunately not Bavarian... but probably one in 30 of these has a unit stamp... in this case a 1914 dated one to the RIR212... a Unit that made its bones in Belgium, in the Yser in 1914......

Hi just show mine here marked I.R.161 11 Kompanie other side a "K" dont know what it stand for? Maker was C.P Goertz /Berlin optic is still clear..
