Motorhead Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Hmmm-I hate to be the bringer of bad news-this one is never a 107 Carl Wild! It looks like the common fake with the varios maker marks!Micha
Guest Darrell Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 (edited) I agree with Micha ... just saw this thread. Those rounded corners give this one away ... Edited April 25, 2006 by Darrell
ekhunter Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I agree with Micha ... just saw this thread. Those rounded corners give this one away ...I'm new here, but I can gaurantee you that this is not a 107 "made" cross.
genoa41 Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 I'm new here, but I can gaurantee you that this is not a 107 "made" cross.Dear SirIt is certainly rewarding to deal with qualified people , but this time I must disagree with you .My opinion is that a well-known german dealer is not going to stake his good name for a few euros .Therefore , while I appreciate your remark that I consider technically noteworthy, I go on giving credit to my dealeryours sincerely
ekhunter Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 (edited) Dear SirIt is certainly rewarding to deal with qualified people , but this time I must disagree with you .My opinion is that a well-known german dealer is not going to stake his good name for a few euros .Therefore , while I appreciate your remark that I consider technically noteworthy, I go on giving credit to my dealeryours sincerelyRespectfully taken, and it is O.K. to agree to disagree. However, please don't believe that "some" well known dealers won't stake their good name for a few Euro's. I know, because I myself got burned by a Floch several years ago by a well known dealer. It happens! I only said that because the pin, catch, and the "rounder" edges don't match any known example of a 107 marked cross. Tonight I will try to post a picture of a Carl Wild 1st class pinback that is generally accepted by 99.999 of collector's and dealers as the "real" deal. Good luck in your endeavors, and once again, I did not mean to offend. Edited April 28, 2006 by ekhunter
dond Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Perhaps it needs moved to the discussion area to give buyers a warm and fuzzy.Don
Nick Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I agree this needs to be thrashed out in the EK Section. So I have moved it there.
Dave B Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I agree with the others I'm afraid, the cross is not looking good at all ...have a look at this link for some original examples of a 107 EK1 http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7719Dave
ekhunter Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 This is a Carl Wild 107 pinback. This is a "text book" example for comparison purposes.[attachmentid=36883][attachmentid=36882][attachmentid=36881]
Jan Arne S Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Hi !I also agree with the others here !The first showed EK 1 mm "107" in this thread is a well known fake , and can be found with a lot of different markers marks . Jan Arne
David Robertson Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 HI all Dave B posted the link that says it all, great photos of good 107 made EKI's . The only thing I can do is repeat what has already been posted, The one posted for sale is a common fake and seen with all kinds of makers on them. David R.
genoa41 Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 I agree this needs to be thrashed out in the EK Section. DavidM Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 HelloThe cross in question, as has already been pointed out, is a fake. What I'd be interested to know is who the dealer is that is peddling this rubbish.
