Ian Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 (edited) I have also been 'watching' this since it first appeared on eBay. I didn't like it from the moment I laid eyes on and will be interested to see what it sells for. Someone is going to be very disappointed. Notice on the bottom lefthand side the 'Franz' has been doubled up on. "A fool and their money are soon parted' comes to mind. Edited November 22, 2023 by Ian Additional Observation 1
Elmar Lang Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Good luck to the happy buyer. From what I can see in the pictures, it is an unofficially struck piece, made for private purchase at an undefined date between 1914 and well after WW1, to which an "old style" suspension was added. Best wishes, E.L. 1

What do you see to differentiate between an acceptable unofficial/private purchase piece and an undesirable one? tony 🍻
Farkas Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 Coincidentally Gents, I’ve just seen this same one up for sale by someone else now. Buy it now for €770. They’ve tidied it up a bit… Before After The right hand side particularly looks better but seems a shame to mess with it. tony 🍻
tifes Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 It would be from the same "basket" as the previous one. In my honest opinion not worth of the money asked as an addition to a decent collection. 1
Christian1962 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 In my humble opinion it´s a "hands off" item. Regards Christian 1
Farkas Posted December 9, 2023 Author Posted December 9, 2023 Hi Gents, I had another look, it is the same actual medal… the flaws on the ribbon are identical. tony 🍻
