Stogieman Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Hi Vince, I guess that’s possible, being sold in one of the post WW2 coffin cases
Stogieman Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 And again, same seller, 1870 EK2 with oak leaves and repeat spange. Current bid, $305
VtwinVince Posted February 28 Posted February 28 All terrible fakes, I hope these bidders aren't real either.
Stogieman Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Final Bids on these copies: ”1870 EK1”: $754! ”1870 EK2” $937! people are going to be seriously disappointed when they find out these were copies!! I don’t understand how you can even “collect “ without doing any research on your subject. It seems that there’s an awful lot of money changing hands here. The seller of these items has a never ending supply of them and that alone should have been a huge red flag for the buyers! 1
Stogieman Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 People are simply crazy! The fake 1813 EK1 is currently up to $1630 and the fake PLM is up to $1195! I just don’t understand this nonsense. These pieces are clearly copies!
Stogieman Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 Really atrocious PLM copy with fake WW2 swords and oak leaves attached, offered as “vintage” at $2125!!
Stogieman Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Fake 1813 final bid: $1630 Fake Juncker PLM: $2026 People are crazy!!
Stogieman Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 While the debate is still open and ongoing as to whether this piece is period or not one of our favorite sellers has yet another one of these for sale, opening bid $1. In a case.
laurentius Posted March 8 Posted March 8 It seems the Ebay-fakes have permeated to the dealers https://www.weitze.net/militaria/38/Anhalt_Erinnerungszeichen_an_den_90_Geburtstag_der_Herzogin_Witwe_Frederike_zu_Anhalt_Bernburg__442538.html

Stogieman Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Fake Austrian Pilot Badge enhanced with fake engraving, final bid was $396
Stogieman Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 The usual seller, no shortage of these put together sets!
VtwinVince Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Wow, not only the OTT ridiculous engraving, but the 'period correct' nonsensical lithography on the inside of the case.
Stogieman Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 It’s kind of funny to watch fakes get tons of bids but real items languish. I think people are crazy!
VtwinVince Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I think fleabay has become one of the most heavily manipulated sources of fakery around.
Stogieman Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 I agree Vince, and people just gobble them up! That EK/Observer set is up to $950!!
Stogieman Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 I don’t really like the crown on this “Bavarian Observer Badge” and I don’t care for the case either. I think it’s a copy albeit a well done one. Anyone disagree?
VtwinVince Posted March 16 Posted March 16 That's a tough one, certainly not an award piece, but very convincing construction. I have a similar one with pierced crown which has been dismissed as a fake, but which I believe is an interwar example.
Stogieman Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Final bids on some fakes: Boxed Observer and EK1: $984 Another Boxed delux TWM: $369 Cased fake Navy Badge: $389
