Guest Rick Research
Konteradmiral (V) (1.1.45) August B?ning (1891-1964), as worn from October 1936 when he was still a Korvettenkapit?n (V). Although he was the highest decorated paymaster in the Imperial navy, getting three Turkish awards including this monstrously oversized "fashion" Medjidie Order Vth Class with Sabers, the Silver Liakat Medal with Sabers bar (all but hidden behind that) and the pinback Turkish War Medal star with his two 1914 EKs, all he got in WW2 were the two KVKs with Swords, and he never updated his medal bar. (Don't ask for ribbon bars... I have a box full of Admirals! )
