    Everything posted by Dave B

    1. Yes absolutely fake, no comparison at all to a genuine Zimmermann RK.
    2. Nice looking Cross Micha, Deumer made a good EK
    3. On the link Bill has provided you have posted an L/14 without a Souval frame Ben mate Must say I've never had an L/14 screwback, quite hard to get hold of. Dave
    4. I'll get hold of the DK doc and take some better photos/scans, I'm still convinced the doc is ok.
    5. What about a Feldwebel/Oberfeldwebel Heinrich M?ller (DOB 1.5.16) Flughafenbetriebskompanie II./Zerst?rergeschwader 76? This is on a KVKII award doc dated 1.7.41 he was later part of III./Nachtjagdgeschwader 3 in 1945. Heinrich is supposedly Friedrich's brother.
    6. Really!! ..are you sure Rick? The document I'm sure is correct, the weird look to it is because I photographed it in bad artificial light and in a plastic wallet. Sig on doc..
    7. Hi all, Does anybody have any information on a DKiG winner called Oberfeldwebel Friedrich M?ller? I can't seem to find him in the DKiG winners list, he won the DK on the 29.9.44. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave
    8. Yeah that's what I mean, if you can shake the case without the Cross moving then I'd probably say the Cross is slightly too big for the recess(hence it not moving). It should sit nicely in the space, not too tight or too loose. Have you tried a 1914 EKII in it to see how it fits? Dave
    9. Does the Cross sit in the recess well or is the EK a little big?
    10. From what I can see it looks fine to me, no red flags....I'd be interested to know if it's 3 part construction(it looks it).
    11. Wow Rich, it's a beauty mate ...in fact all three are superb Congrats!! Dave
    12. Hmm I don't think it is as part of the Cross is hidden under his jacket, I doubt they would go to such lengths as to "photoshop" the Cross so it looks more natural....if it has been pasted it usually looks really obvious.
    13. Ah ok Rich, no problem. My view...I have no idea mate.
    14. Rich mate, can you send me a large scan of the photo please. Cheers Dave
    15. Wow, it does look like one of those Eastern European fakes No idea of the maker. Dave
    16. Yep stay away from this guy and don't buy anything he offers you!
    17. Thanks for that BJoW, very interesting mate! Rick, I have no idea why the 50p is 7 sided??...I think we have had 7 sided coins going back years, best to ask someone dead old like Gordon W Btw, anyone got a spare VC 50p?(not the one with the soldiers)
    18. Which I believe are stored just down the road from me at C.O.D Donnington. I have a couple of the 50ps with the soldier carrying a wounded comrade but I haven't found one with the VCs on yet *cough*
    19. Looks to be a nice original piece and I concur with the above about cleaning it. Congrats on your first EK by the way! Dave
    20. Don't think there really is an average price for an RK urkunde because every one is unique and it can also depend on condition etc. I think the last one I saw for sale which was to a Colonel of an Infantry Regt and was the full leather Mappe with urkunde was ?8500GBP.I believe the award date was early war, 1941 I think. The recipient went on to win the Oakleaves also. Dave
    21. Nice looking L59 Rich, only had one myself and that had the L59 with a squiggle. Congrats mate. Dave
    22. All depends on the recipient, an urkunde to a high scoring fighter pilot or an SS Panzer ace are going to command a lot more than say an artillery General. Dave
    23. Nice Crosses and photos Rich Crosses with patina are so much nicer than sparkling mint ones.....although I do like those as well lol! Dave
