    1. Flieger Bluse with Heer insignia. Karl Ott a Luftwaffe Oberwerkmeister (aircraft mechanic in the rank of an Oberfeldwebel) writes that in April 1945 he and other LW ground personnel were transferred to the Luftwaffenfeldausbildungs-Division 154 under the command of Heeresgruppe Mitte (GFM Sch?rner). They were transferred to Naumburg for infantry training. Ott describes that they took off their yellow Kragenspiegel and replaced them with Grenadier Litzen. As well as the eagles on hats and tunics. The entire article is published in German in: J?gerblatt Nr: 3/2003 sorry for the poor image Hardy

    3. 6. unbelievable Thanks Micha and Heiko for the heads up Hardy
    7. Paul, I haven't forgotten - sorry that it takes sooo long. I'm still waiting for an answer from Germany. Hardy
    8. Very nice bars Sascha, I especially like the fact that it shows that the owner was (like you say) a NCO (probably Vizefeldwebel) with the Badische Verdienstmedaille - then was promoted to Leutnant and awarded the Z?hringer L?wen Orden. Hardy
    9. Hi Chip, no, no label inside. The tunic has three pockets inside: two in the back and a breast pocket. Chip do you see any problem with the later style shoulder boards found on this tunic? Any suggestions what the award could have been beside the EKI? Hardy
    10. from March 5, 1915 to February 8, 1917 - Oberst Victor Sigismund Rudolf von Horn was the Commander of the 56. Feldartillerie-Brigade. http://www.vonhorn.info/pers/visi_1866.htm Hardy
    11. Thanks Dave for the reply The tunic is actually darker in life than on the pictures. Here I made some pictures with the flash. I agree with you on the boards being of later issue- I did leave them on the tunic since the velvet on the bottom of the boards seems to be the same fabric as the collar and cuffs. Any ideas for the award beside the EKI? I have seen pictures of the blue pre-war tunic worn with wound badge
    12. Well decorated Baden Pionier Leutnant from the Pionier-Bataillon Nr.14 The tunic is in very good condition, exept for some minor moth holes and dust. I added the awards to show how the tunic might have looked. Regards, Hardy

    14. Yes, it does look like Groberz and not like G?rlitz. I agree. Due to some kind of distortion we seem to read the word Groberz. Now, find the town of Groberz. There are at least 100 names of war dead on the cenotaph - if the place ever existed it should be mentioned some where. It might not be G?rlitz but, after investing some of my time, it's the best I could come up with for now. Hardy
    15. The size of the monument and the large list of names indicate a fair size town. - There is no town by that name. Hardy
    16. The building to the left of the monument looks a lot like the Dreifaltigkeitskirche in G?rlitz. The name on the monument could be:
    17. "Sie gaben ihr Alles ihr Leben ihr Blut Sie gaben es hin mit heiligem Mut - f?r uns" these lines are from a poem by a student from Charlottenburg Gymnasium. The words can be found on many war monuments build after 1918 I streched the picture a bit and inverted the colors - you can see the word LEBEN on the side. Full text: IHR LEBEN IHR BLUT Hardy
    18. Makes me sick - add the words "found in Stalingrad" and you can sell dried up fecal matter. Hardy http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...rksid=p3907.m29
    19. Ricky, can you sharpen the scan a bit more - I can't tell if they are Gibson's or Fender's
    20. Betriebsschutz = factory - security
    21. not so much a cuff title but an ID Armband worn by civilian clothed auxiliary police Hardy
    22. That is correct. Here is a Stempel that spells it out:
