    1. I am not a bar expert, but I am guessing, he has the 1870 bar, which means he maybe did not have a combat role in WW1 as most senior officers with an 1870EK 2 seem to have recieved an early 1914 EK1... then not getting a bar for the EK2. It can not be Paul EvP as he had an 1870 EK1. It is not General Horst Edler von der Planitz, Kommandant des XII. Armeekorps either as he had no 1870 EK2....
    2. Hi, a nice tunic, the collar badge are unusual though? I am not saying they are bad, but I have never seen like this?
    3. Someone went to a looooot of trouble. Pity he did not have better details of the stamp in the lid....
    4. Hi, a last month of the war Soldbuch to a Lt basically covering his last pay, proving he exists and saying which regiment he was no. No award or battle details (Sometimes you find awards in Soldbuchs) so he could have been an absolute war stud, or war dud. You need the regimental histoy to see. Officers Soldbuchs are pretty scarce.
    5. Hi, I lost the link to the site with the German WW1 wounded lists. There was a site that was better than ancestry... can anyone remember where it was? Thanks Chris
    6. Hi, thanks, I was convinced it was Ypern, but could not figure out the Jeperen bit.....
    7. Hi, can anyone figure out the missing text? "Duerch die Gruppe XXX XXXX kdo Gardekorps" ? Thanks, Chris
    8. I remember about 5 years ago at Gunzenhausen, standing outside for a smoke, a somewhat unwashed and unlikable individual who sold me a Turkish "Galipolli Star" for EUR50, because he did not "§$%& turkish stuff" ... you just frequent the wrong sellers!!! :-)
    9. Hi, here are a couple of loose crosses from Groups..... And another dude, I just gor the cross and ek doc, not the rest of the group unfortunately....
    10. Hi ixhs, you are right, it says "we" ... I had trouble recognising the last bit of the stamp.
    11. I love this pic, I know I have posted it before.... but the day you see that rare "Godet core with a KO ring" on ebay..... :-)
    12. Hi, how big is it? It looks like one of the "Sweetheart" badges, or something for civilian dress? All the best Chris
    13. Hi, Indeed, RickL once mentioned they were very popular with Saxon infantry.
    14. Hi, thanks, looks to be the latter, but so heavily hit it appears to be "in a box"
