    1. Maybe he bends the rules a bit as not being regular army but rather an official? Am guessing regular army were stricter? With officials maybe noone knew the rules... or he just put it on for the photo...

    3. That is NOT Funny :-( Those are not where I would like them to be!!! :-) Can you make some better pics?

    5. I like it, it gives a good impression. As always, these depend on your "feelings" for the piece. The only thing that raises a small question mark is the lack of a rank, but there are probably a number of possible reasons for that.
    6. I usually just take a French one.... have seen enough photos with those being worn, and they are cheap.... or just a simple one like this.... http://kaiserscross.com/286801/286822.html
    7. I think the only way to approach this is to ask "what could they be, irrespective of how ambiguous they look" Who other than assault units wore unofficial arm badges? Some of the ones we have seen are really strange .... Would any other kinds of unit/Speciality have dared to put up croosed flowers, brushes, brooms, whatevers on an unofficial arm badge? Would a CO have approved anything for his men that was less than martial? Best Chris
    8. Am not sure if he was really japanese, or an Ohara living in Japan?

    14. In this case no Photo of the man, but he was in a Pionier Unit in the Argonne forest, so the Argonne Pionier Song is a good mounting board....
    15. This Saxon Jäger officer was difficult to pin down, but nailed thanks to the research gnomes on the forum......
    16. Some time ago I realised that i had a bunch of identified WW1 EK1s.... These were either in complete groups, or ebay sellers who were selling their relatives medals... I have started displaying them with enlarged Photos of the winner.... Fits nicely in a Binder.... This cavalry officer lost an Arm, served in a POW camp in WW2 and commited suicide after the war....
    17. Here we go.... enlarged to A4...
