    1. This was a great one... it was in the style of the WW1 "Gibralter" ones you often see... i.e. a raw edge, not folded over... A friend got it from an ex Fallschirmjäger
    2. This man did his national service in the Army, Was an SS Member, a Lawyer and transfered to the Waffen SS, I think it was Norway... it was a great complete little grouping, I assume no longer together... but for your viewing pleasure...
    3. I did not have the medals, but this was a representation of the awards of a guy I had the documents to... He got the General assault badge, according to the Wehrpass for ground fighting with his light flak, attached to an army division... The Luftwaffe did not count those towards the ground combat badge. There was an Army General assault doc, but the award was not entered in the Wehrpass or Soldbuch... so i dont know is the Luftwaffe forbade the wearing... Anyway, this is what he would have had....
    4. Thats pretty cool... not only must it have impressed the girls... but skinny oponent, he grabs the knife, more corpulant, the bayonet ;-)
    5. I love it! Not only did he command the unit, but it was NAMED after him! I always wondered why there was so little about them in 3rd Reich era literature... Must have been surreal for his wife and kids to be escorted all over by HJ and party people at the first reunion...
    6. Denis Allex, the hostage they wanted to rescue in Somalia was apparently killed. He was a DGSE agent,
    7. Imperial German is ROCKING this week! Thanks Guys!

    8. Lt Damien Boiteux, 4th Special forces Chopper Regt, The officer killed in Mali
    9. The unit that carried out the raid in Somalia was the CPIS of the DGSE... apparently one man missing in action, claimed captured by the baddies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_Action
    10. That is a super helmet indeed... just the right amount of "been there" on it...
    11. Hi, Really interesting to see the reinforcing tapes of the Gamaschen, i always thought they were put on to hide the tapes. Mine have tapes as well and I tried and tried to put them on with the tapes hidden, did not work... now I know better. Great phot, thanks,
    12. Why were they mounted on the bad end of the bar on the 1870 one you posted? Best Chris
    13. Oooohhh, I need one of these!! You think the blob on the crown is a repair?
    14. Magic! Now i know what a Philipps-Orden Silbernes Kreuz looks like... silly question its looks a bit impressive to be at the bad end of the bar??
    15. I will add the markings later, but have the ones for the left one It is stamped B.A. XI, the XI Armeekorps Made by hans Römer, Neu Ulm in 1918 On the back there is a bavarian Abnahmestemple
