    1. OK, I see it is not the Zeitfreiwilligen Regiment Leipzig, totally different badge.
    2. Could this be Freikorps von Pfeffer ? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Freikorps-von-Pfeffer-Kragen-Abzeichen-Eichenlaub-mit-A-um-1919-/330821169080?pt=Militaria&hash=item4d067a6fb8
    3. Hi, just crop the pictures a bit smaller, or reduce their size. Best Chris
    4. I do! Just like the answer to the Sex thing is to wrap that rascal in Latex.... I think we should solve the fakers problem by suffocating them in plastic bags! ;-)
    5. It will be interesting to see if the Australian VC is becoming easier to get than the UK one. No doubt he desrved his medal, but if that is the 3rd Aussie VC for Afghanistan, how many have the Brits awarded? Comparing the size of the contingents as well?
    6. Existence of Drugs: - puts a theme to the night out. At least 50% of all partygoers are discussing them. - puts a feature of danger to the Binge, which makes it even more attractive. You can rave, but you can die - it´s rollercoaster adrenaline. - puts a gap between drunks and serious druggies. No pain, no gain. So please tell me, what do you have against drugs? :-) seriously... those are arguments I dont buy. You could even change the theme to "Why sexual diseases make the thrill and danger of unprotected sex sooooo much better!" ;-)
    7. Hi, indeed, the Reichsarchiv one was in RIR106, is mentioned in two books dealing with the some.
    8. Hi, Makers of the date rape drug are not doing the raping themselves either... just selling stuff... Anything ground off usually makes people question what they buy If an orignal piece costs 35... and a dealer pays 25... he earns 10 If the replica costs 5 and can be sold to an idiot for 15... the faker makes 10 Its all relative. best Chris
    9. OFFICIALLY not.... but there was a huge trade in knocking up awards as souveniers for allied troops. A lot was made from left over parts... Splitting an EK2 can be done without damaging the frame. I would not buy this. But collecting is about being happy with what you buy. If you are happy with this then fine, but you will have trouble selling it at a later date.
    10. Hi Souval is in Austria, there is (if I remember correctly) no ban on Swastikas there) I would say definately post war. the little thing on the top is (IMHO) the place where a ring for an EK2 would have been soldered on. Split an EK2 and you have the front rims for 2 EK1, all you need are backplates, which are easier to make than front rims... and pins. I would pass on this, it is terrible.
    11. Makes no difference what he lists it as... unless he stamps "replica" on it.... same as the cloth makers from pakistan who flood the market with fake cloth badges... They are not the ones making big bucks, but the "fake sellers" buy them up and make the big profit... Selling a replica as a replica is of no real use when you know the next guy is going to sell it as real... its kinda like selling poppy seeds to a heroine maker and saying "I dont make heroin".... Of course, if the copy is really bad, noone cares... but I remember when I was 12-13, blowing my whole vacation budget in London on a WW1 EK2 that turned out to be made of lead....
    12. Hmmmm... a Heroic bayonet wound would be cooler than bleeding 'Rhoids... but of course, better for Teichmann if it were not the case... ;-)
    13. A quick look online shows a Oblt d L Teichmann mentioned in the Reichsarchive series. I will check my listing when I get home and see if it is the same one. Maybe an interesting entry... :-)
    14. He was with the LW Regiment from June 1916. The 143rd was in action at Verdun from Feb 1916.... Maybe he was wounded, not 100% fit and sent to the Landwehr Regiment?
    15. I am wondering if such an isolated event as the 5 guys escaping would be acceptable material for a badge design, even back them. Even the pre British war of aggression badges of the Transvaal and OVS followed the British tradition of "things" as opposed to events... if it is indeed a Karoo Skutters badge, it is a big break in tradition me thinks...
    16. that seems veeeery close... other ranks EK1 for 1870 sounds very sexy indeed.....
    17. Hi Andy, Muchos Grazias! Maybe a serious wound then transfered from IR143 to the landwehr Regt. I picture an empy sleeve, eye patch and a long cigarette holder and riding crop... couple of duelling scars ...
    18. Unless someone is faster I will see if I can find my disc when I make it home. All th ebest Chris
    19. No Problem, threads are there to generate discussion... in whatever direction..
    20. A long shot, he was d.L.I... Does anyone know anything about Hautmann Teichmann? http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56043-highest-form-of-ek-for-physically-challenged/ Thanks+Chris
    21. I always place great value on these "citation" award ocuments... this one is pretty interesting, especially the mentions of him having physical handicaps of some sort... I wonder what it could have been....
    22. Thats a very good question... I wuld have thought maybe in Germany, but did not know there were any French occupation troops in Austria. Maybe the Austians were just glad to get rid of displaced people...
