OK, some education needed here.... no idea what they are, the photos on the webpages on moroccan medals do not correspond. I think the left one is earlier than the right one, have no idea what they are worth or anything....

The case in the big pic was for this close to mint, pre 51 L.D.H., no emaile damage.

Extreme right is a very early silver colonial medal (Argent stamped into the side in very thin letters like the WW2 era German lifesaving medal) the left is a later version by the same firm, the middle a smaller uglier version by another firm. I assume the right hand one has been repaired. the whole right hand one is tarnished black.

I know nothing about Spanish buckles, but part of Morocco was an old Spanish Colony, and these were found there... any help on dating these and the differences appretiated...

Moroccan troops were amongst the best assault trrops in WW1, very feared by the germans in WW2 and very. very, tough opponants in all the colonial battles... so I could not resist these, even though they were not "cheap" as i would have liked them to be.

OK, The stuff I picked up on Vacation.... A framed C.D.G. and MM, with a copy of the citation sent by the regt. The man was checking a telephone line when he heard sounds in front of the lines. On his own initiative he advanced to recon the area and was killed with a bullet in the head as he sounded the alarm.

I am lost already... any chance of you doing it and can transfer the loot to you? I find the prospect of flying over to be easier than the NA site

What percentage of imperial collectors STARTED with Imperial (other than Rick )

There are a lot of young collectors who think the Nazi stuff is "cool"... will they stick with the hobby when that wears off? When I started collecting an older german collector said "3rd reich is entry level collecting, some collectors mature to imperial, some stick with 3rd reich and some just fall along the way" To each his own, I dig the imperial, took a few years for it to happen, but there it is. Its like marrying the farm girl after fiddling around with all the big city floozies.

Military or Medical ?... he spoke a bit much in his dotage... a number of dashing U-Boot aces who shhepishly had to come to get themselves (and on occasion angry wife) cured of a packet. Anyway, those are not to be retold. At some stage I will show all his stuff. bvest Chris

Its like drinking wine, A coffee mug is sturdy and practicle, but a wine glass is just so much more classy.

When i was in the legion we used to have loops for awards and badges as well... They are not that strong.... A loop will break faster then a regular pin.... I really think these are just nice gadgets as opposed to anything else. best Chris

I once told a friend what I had sold my round 3 for and his eyes popped out. He collects ammunition boxes etc. but has 2-3 medals. he said he will go home and look at his one and only EK2.... I figured "yeah right!" Half an hour later he calls up... and it is a rounder... go figure !
