    1. Well, my guess would be has received a double award of the NC KDM for 1870/71! One on each ribbon!
    2. Hi Paul, Yes, you did....... but the "meat" of the matter is a NC KDM on the Combattant Ribbon. As a consolation prize, you can have 10% off too. Hey. I'm easy today.......
    3. The scary thing here is these guys have absolutely no problem selling these crosses! Over and over and over.....
    4. Certainly one of the more uncommon makers! Nice cross!
    5. It's possible for the guy to have wounded out early in Russia and still earned a KVM in some civilian capacity. The bar looks like a home-made job for sure. In the absence of anything glowing, the best you can do with this one is say "maybe".... but there's certainly no shortage of those floating around that don't conform to "normal specs. & standards". If it wasn't expensive and you like it...
    6. Note that a second class example of this unofficial award was also presented to vets and can occasionally be found in mounted groups! Both classes have been heavily faked.... not something to be concerned with when buying from Heiko!!
    7. Paul, I have a bar that would be appropriate should you wish to change it. However, given that you have a reserve landwehr medal on their, the potential exists that he simply updated his bar to the medal post '13 if he was still serving in the reserves in some capacity.
    8. Let me clarify for a moment... now that I've had some coffee! Both ribbons look fine, but the first Cross is the Lippe Cross for Merit in War and doesn't belong on the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Ribbon. Both crosses were awarded in Combattant & Non-combattant classes, with the primary colors of the ribbon being the discerning factor in the absence of a document.
    9. Both look fine and original. The Strelitz cross can be found on both of the ribbons shown, as an aside and is correct, depending on the home state of the recipient.
    10. Christian is correct! He wins! You have the NC 1870/71 KDM as awarded on the Combattant ribbon! This is a legitimate and correct presentation of a rather scarce award. I had an actual document for this once upon a time to a Doctor. The Centennial medal does indeed appear to be a Prinzen as well. Regarding the style, this "big bow" is a legitimate style used pre-1900, typically only seen with officer bars, occassionally seen with other ranks. A very scarce and desirable bar that I was unfortunately outbid on. Somebody in Germany is very lucky. This is actually the first and only mounted example I have seen on the open market in a very, very long time! Thanks to all who played! Christian, you may save your 10% "coupon" for future use if there's nothing in there that catches your eye right now. Congratulations!
    11. Hi Les, no harm, no foul, intended or otherwise...... nor inferred and/or perceived..... i simply wanted folks to know he was a member. That's all! Eduardo had the piece on the Sales Forum for 800- Euro. Figure his reserve to be somewhere there abouts. A good copy and I'm just one of those people that has a seriously hard time ponying up to the bar for a copy....... I'd rather have no original and no fake. But that's me.
    12. Fun quiz time again Girls & Boys!! Now, for 10% off any Medal bar in the March Madness Sale, (not retroactive!) What is this medal bar for & why is it interesting?
    13. From the auction. Nothing special, but it will be my one (1) Mongolian "group".
    14. Apparently, this guy got around a bit......... this Pk is available in Germany for 75- Euro !
    15. I have a very nice little group of medals enroute that appear to all be to the same person. Will add when they get here!!
    16. Greetings Heiko. A discouraging development to be sure. Have you catalogued all the types yet?
