    1. An interesting analysis of the war's beginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg5LWHQYIrY
    2. The Boerger & Co catalog shows the silver at 80p. It is a wartime catalog (1939-40 timeframe)
    3. I don't collect TR crosses but you see the same stuff on Imperial crosses.
    4. Thanks for the info. Its a nice bar to a very brave man. Notice he didn't feel the need to jazz it up with a bunch of the "I was there" add-ons that you see on a lot of post war bars. I wonder which 1st class awards he had?
    5. Looking for an army unit that had either a Brunswick Oldenburg connection/affiliation or possibly even a Schaumburg Lippe, Brunswick, Oldenburg affiliation.
    6. And that is why my Drill Sergeants instilled a no smoking in the foxhole policy into all of us.
    7. Unless he ended up with two items needing mounted, a hindy and perhaps an LS medal. What did he do after the war?
    8. What is the mark at the bottom of that Schleisen Eagle?
    9. Possibly a civil servant long service award (with Swaz) or one of the 20-30s let me buy an award type of thingy. Measure the distance from the hook where the medal would hang from to the bottom of the row of awards. Everything else is in a nice straight line so what you are looking for should equal that distance. Perhaps a Kyffhauserbund.
    10. Could we see the whole cross, front and back? It would be a shame for this thread not to document the whole award.
    11. Are you sure it is not the Kyffhauserbund medal ribbon? Hard to tell from the pics.
