the stuff came from the same house??? Are you a house-clearer or.... do you dig into houses for their medals (burglary??) ???? That would explain why you have so many nice things... Kind regards Jacky
No no... Then I would be very angry for such a beautifull medal being demolished. But it was everything I could see on the picture. Kind regards, Jacky
Hi Guys, I'm offered a territorial service medal for 50 euro's of George VI, of which I only know the number 848388 Could anyone help me out and tell me where and how I can find information about the men/women to which certain medals belongs?? Kind regards and thanks in advance, Jacky
If you ever want to part with that knight of the royal order of the lion.... You know where I'm... I have bought recently a nice silver medal of the order... however no ribbon.. so If you have somewhere a spare ribbon... Please feel free to contact me. Kind regards, Jacky
Hi Laurence, It is a nice medal, however concerning your question, I think that the ribbon and bar were lost and someone replaced them with the ribbon for the cross. The gold/yellow line in the middle is only for the cross-classes of this decoration. So the bar was presumably lost together with the original ribbon. Kind regards, Jacky
Nice medal, But I don't think that it had been painted by someone, more likely by the jeweller since I believe it to be an officers cross. If you look at the ribbon, there is a hole and a circular "shadow-shape" to be seen on the ribbon, there belonged an rosette to denote the officers class instead of the knights class. Kind regards, Jacky
Those orders of St Alexander do look quite nice, I have a silvered Cross without swords, found together with the Labour-Decoration 1st class of Belgium in a box for the Labour-decoration. As I could see, both the imprints were to be seen in the box, so they must have been for quite a long time in the box, but further still a guess for me. Lovely bars, keep on going!!! Kind regards, Jacky
Wonderfull clasps for those orders, But I don't think that it was used widely as many vetrans wore their orders with swords together with the long service awarded orders..... I have 2 groups in possession, One with the knight Leopold II with swords, ?nd a gold medal of leopold II The other with a knight leopold II with swords ?nd a silver medal of leopold II. Kind regards, Jacky
The lower one on the right side is the german Eagle order, either grandcross or 1st class, depends on the color of the eagles, the grandcross had gold eagles and the 1st class silver ones. Kind regards, Jacky
Hello Eric, You are true that those of the royal household are automatically invested with this order, but I meant that Max v/d Stoel was the first dutchie to have been invested with the order. ...... Royal investments aren't really an investment in my opnion, they just get the award..... Should have been more precise, Max v/d Stoel had been the first Dutchie after general Snijder to be invested with this order.... Kind regards, Jacky
The grand Cross of the golden lion of nassau, Now it only excist in 1 class, the knight of the order of the golden lion of nassau. But if I'm correct, this order had to be returned to the crown after deceasal of the receipment?? But yes, one of the few, after many many years, Prof Dr Max van der Stoel was the next receipment of the knight of the order of the golden lion of nassau. kind regards, Jacky
Wonderfull pictures!!! Would like to see more, always more Isn't there a name or some hint at the back of the cart of the captain with the MWO?? Kind regards, Jacky
